FAQ
- Why is the result a PNG, not a real CMYK file?
- Browsers have no native way to export a true -encoded image file. This produces an image deliberately altered to show what CMYK printing will visibly change — a preview to look at, not a file to send to a printer expecting real CMYK data.
- Why doesn't this work on a CMYK JPEG?
- A browser can't correctly decode a JPEG's actual pixels in the first place, so there's nothing safe to preview from. Run Color Space Checker on it first to confirm what you actually have.
- How accurate is this?
- It's a simplified simulation — real math for black generation, plus an approximation of which colors will dull, but no actual press or paper profile behind it. Treat it as a rough sense of what will change, not a guarantee of the final printed color.
