About FileSherpa

A sherpa doesn't carry the mountain for you — they know the route, cut the wasted steps, and get you there faster. That's the idea behind FileSherpa: the everyday file tasks that shouldn't need an account, a subscription, or a tutorial, don't.

We got tired of the usual routine — searching for a converter, landing on a page buried in ads, uploading a file to some server, and hoping it actually comes back. So FileSherpa works the other way around: every tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and never uploaded anywhere, which also means it's just fast — no upload, no queue, no waiting on someone else's server.

We're a small, independent team building this one useful tool at a time, guided mostly by what people actually ask for. No signup, no dark patterns, no selling your data — just tools that do the one thing you needed and get out of your way.

About the AI-assisted search

When you type what you need instead of picking a tool yourself, that request is matched against our tools first, entirely on your device, at no cost and with nothing sent anywhere. Only if that can't confidently figure out what you mean does it ask an AI model — currently Groq or OpenAI's API — to interpret it. That request only ever includes what you typed and basic file metadata (type and size); your file itself is never uploaded or seen by anyone, including us.
