- How does it know how much to crop?
- It looks for the page's own declared first — the real, well-defined signal a properly built PDF carries. If there isn't one, it falls back to the trim rectangle any on the page describe. If neither is present, it declines rather than guessing.
- What if only some pages have bleed?
- Each page is checked on its own — a page with a real trim signal is cropped back, a page without one is left completely untouched, even in the same file.
